3DC was formed in 2018 by John Hennessy. As a qualified PassiveHaus designer John's mission is to merge beautiful design with sustainable building practices so that the very best results can be achieved on every project.
3DC isn't your typical design studio, our flexible business model allows us to expand and contract resources based on your specific project needs, delivering high-calibre results at competitive costs.
A large part of our vision is the use of BIM or 3D modelling which we believe can be done at no extra cost compared to traditional design techniques and will result in savings and efficiencies and a better design understanding by all involved.
We realise the benefits of collaboration and knowledge sharing so we work closely with Clients, Professional Consultants and Craftsmen to deliver top quality designs.

John has gained a diverse range of experience over the past 15 years working on pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, institutional and residential projects:
- Structural and Civil Design experience in Ireland, the UK and New Zealand.
- Project Manager experience on multi million euro commercial projects across Ireland
- Design experience in residential and commercial projects across Ireland
John is an advocate for the use of BIM and 3D modelling techniques to give a clear understanding of each project to all involved and to create efficiencies and cost savings in design and construction. He believes that the benefits of BIM are not only for large scale projects.
